Mortgage Broker

Requirements are 24 hours of classroom education pre-license course. This course covers all material needed to excel on your state examination. The material at AREM is simple and made easy to learn with our working professional in the trade. Topics that will qualify you to become a true professional are included in material such as: Mortgage Laws, HUD Closing Statements, Lending rules and Regulations, underwriting process, and other topics related to financing real property.

  • All fees submitted to the Office are non-refundable. Applicants will be mailed a fingerprint card within 30 days from the date of receipt of the application. Applicants will be allowed to take the mortgage broker test even if they have not yet returned the fingerprint card to the Office.
  • In order to facilitate the scheduling process, the Office will only grant test assignments for applications received by the Office in Tallahassee on or before the 15th day of the month for the following month’s test.
  • The Mortgage Broker test is generally given beginning on the 4th Tuesday of each month. The test dates may vary during the months of November and December, due to a large number of test candidates, or inclement weather such as a hurricane.
  • State Examination consists of 100 questions with a passing score of 75%.
